Storytelling Photography, across South Wales and beyond
Every story deserves to be told with honesty and warmth. Based in South Wales, I capture real moments in a natural, relaxed style, whether close to home or a little further afield. From weddings to families and boudoir, your memories are at the heart of every image I create.
Honest photography for meaningful moments
I’m Jo, a South Wales photographer specialising in weddings and the early days of motherhood, with an empowered boudoir offering rooted in confidence and connection.
My approach is calm, documentary-led, and centred around real life as it unfolds — the in-between moments, the quiet emotion, and the connections that matter most.
This isn’t about perfection or performance.
It’s about telling your story honestly, in a way that will still feel meaningful years from now.
How I photograph
I work in a gentle, unobtrusive way, allowing moments to happen naturally rather than directing them.
Most people I photograph tell me they were nervous beforehand - worried they wouldn’t know what to do or feel comfortable in front of the camera. My role is to remove that pressure, guide you softly where needed, and create space for you to simply be present.
Whether I’m documenting a wedding day, a newborn session at home, or an empowered boudoir shoot, the intention is always the same:
to create images that feel real, connected, and true to you.
The work I offer
-

Weddings
Relaxed, documentary wedding photography focused on people, connection, and the moments that matter most.
-

Motherhood
Gentle maternity and newborn sessions, photographed slowly and honestly in the comfort of your home or a familiar space.
-

Empowered Boudoir
A calm, confidence-building experience designed to help you see yourself differently — without pressure or expectation.
Seasonal Sessions
From time to time, I offer a small number of short sessions during different seasons of the year.
These usually take place outdoors or in simple home environments and are designed to capture everyday moments in a natural way. They’re relaxed, unhurried and particularly suited to families with young children.
Because they’re tied to specific seasons or locations, they only run occasionally, and spaces are always limited.
A quiet session for mums with babies
Tuesday 14 July
Location will be shared after booking, but sessions will take place in a calm, light-filled indoor space in Cardiff.
30-minute session
5 edited images included
The early months with a new baby often revolve around feeding, holding and learning each other.
These sessions are a quiet space to document that stage of motherhood. Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle feeding or somewhere in between, the focus is simply on the connection between you and your baby.
They’re slow, gentle sessions with plenty of time for feeding, cuddling and settling while I photograph things as they naturally unfold.
Mini sessions are short, pre-booked time slots and are non-refundable due to limited availability.
Thursday 11 June
Cosmeston Lakes Country Park
15 minute session
5 edited images included
A relaxed outdoor session for mums and their children, with a little creativity mixed in.
During these sessions, you’ll spend a few quiet minutes painting together while I photograph the moments as they unfold. Children can explore the paints, experiment with brushes, and enjoy the experience while you simply spend time together.
The focus isn’t on creating the perfect painting. It’s on the interaction between you and your child — the concentration, the laughter, the messy hands, and the little moments that happen naturally when you slow down and spend time together.
Sessions take place outdoors at Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, using a simple paint setup and a neutral blanket to keep the focus on connection rather than props.
Each session lasts around 15 minutes and includes 5 professionally edited digital images, with the option to upgrade to the full gallery once you’ve seen your photographs.
Mini sessions are short, pre-booked time slots and are non-refundable due to limited availability.
Friday 25 July
Location will be shared after booking, but sessions will take place in a calm, light-filled indoor space in Cardiff
25 minutes
3 carefully edited digital images
There are moments where you feel a bit more at ease in yourself
A bit softer
A bit more open
A bit less aware of how you’re being seen
These sessions are about holding onto that feeling
Not creating something over the top
Not trying to be someone else
Just giving you space to slow down
and be seen in a way that feels natural
Mini sessions are short, pre-booked time slots and are non-refundable due to limited availability.

Ready when you are
If this feels like the right fit, I’d love to hear from you.
You don’t need to have everything figured out — just a sense that this approach resonates. I’ll guide you gently from there.
